IIT-R and TERI sign Mou

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee signed an MoU with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). It was signed by Dr Ajay Mathur, DG, TERI and Prof AK Chaturvedi, Director IITR. The two have agreed to collaborate in the areas of mutual interest with special focus on the thematic areas of energy, renewable energy, water management, climate change, food, environment, sustainable habitat and sustainable transport.

The MoU will also facilitate capacity building and joint events focusing on public policy and public action in the areas of energy transition, energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green buildings, sustainable citiesand transport, air auality, sustainable land use, waste management, climate science & policy, resource efficiency and security.

Best Design Award

The team from KIET Group of Institutions  has won the 2019 AIAA Neil Armstrong Best Design Award in the 25th Annual Rover Challenge held at the US Space and Rocket Center in Alabama. The award is given to the best designs that meet the Rover Challenge performance requirements.

Tuhin Srivastava, team advisor from the faculty, who was present with the team to receive the award said: “It is a great honour for us shows our dedication to innovating engineering. Our students worked hard for six months and it has paid off. The best part is that this is the first time we have participated in the competition and were pitted against teams who had been competing for the past 20 years.”

Calligraphy Workshop at ims

The MS Design and Innovation Academy (DIA), Noida  organised a calligraphy oorkshop in its campus where calligrapher Aditya Sarkar gave students tips on how to make their writing work more beautiful. The aim of workshop is to motivate students for practicing calligraphy with some simple fins tips and tricks.

Addressing the students Sarkar said that calligraphy is an art that can help in the design process of writing a specific style. Students can regular practice of calligraphy style will have to improve their writing. He emphasized the importance of reviving the dying art of calligraphy in the digital age where people are discarding writing in favour of the typed word. he said that the future of education can be transferred to the computer, but  the demand of the calligraphy expert will continue to grow.

The aim of workshop was to help students explore their perception of beauty, grace and use their individual artistic expressions.

The International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi held its 35th Annual Convocation Ceremony at the campus. Deep Kalra, Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip who was the chief guest encouraged the graduating students to embrace failure and learn to be calm in crisis.  During the ceremony 225 students from the PGDM programme, 36 students from the PGDM-HRM programme, 53 students from PGDM (B&FS) programme, 32 students from the PGDM (Ex-PGDM) programme, and three students from the FPM programme received their diplomas.

The proud families of the graduating students, having made the trip to IMI New Delhi to capture the happy moment, kept cheering the students.

Summer Programme

The Knowledge Wharton High School (KWHS) iniivtes applications for its summer program on finance. The latest addition to the KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) will provide an Ivy League experience at the Wharton School, focusing on finance and investment.

The KWHS GYLA-Finance will conduct three two-week sessions from June to August in 2019 (Session A: June 23-July 6; Session B: July 7-20; Session C: July 21-August 3), at the Philadelphia campus between the ages of 15 and 18 who demonstrate academic accomplishments, a keen interest in finance and a basic understanding of economics and business, are eligible to apply through BrainGain Academy.
