BIS holds Meet with stakeholders of Pashmina
Bureau of Indian Standards organised a consultative meeting in association with Craft Development Institute (CDI) and Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) with stakeholders of Pashmina, Carpet and Handloom on 18thof this month at Bemina, Srinagar.The meeting was attended by MsRubinaCounsar, Director, Handloom, J&K Government, Mr. Zubair Ahmad, Director, IICT & CDI and officials from BIS including Dr. R.K. Jha, Scientist F & Head, JKBO Branch Office, and Mr J. K. Gupta, Scientist ‘D’, TextilesDepartment. Around seventy delegates from, Handloom weaver co-operative society,Pashmina Artisan,Manufacturers, Traders, carpet Industry association, carpet export promotion council, carpet cluster and Academic Institute along with BIS officials participatedandhad an interactive discussion in the meeting.
NHPC celebrates 5th International Day of Yoga
NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company celebrated the 5th International Day of Yoga with full enthusiasm and gaiety on 21st June 2019. During the celebrations Shri Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC participated in a community yoga session held at Badminton Hall, NHPC Residential Complex at Faridabad alongwith Shri Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel), Shri M.K. Mittal, Director (Finance), Shri Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical) and other senior NHPC officers.
AAI celebrates Yoga Day
Airports Authority of India, Regional Headquarter Northern Region celebrated 5th International Yoga Day at the Operational Office, Multi-purpose Hall today i.e. on 21.06.2019 with an aim to raise awareness of Yoga’s many health benefits. While lighting the traditional lamp, Shri M. NN Rao, Regional Executive Director(NR) in his address shared the proud information of India’s contribution in YOGA through its pioneer Sage Patanjali & expressed gratefulness to our Hon’ble Prime Minister who got this day as International Yoga Day.
NHPC holds cleanliness awareness programme
NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydro power company celebrated ‘Swachchhata Pakhwada 2019’ from 16th May 2019 to 31st May 2019. During this Pakhwada, NHPC has organized various activities related to cleanliness awareness as tree plantation/ sapling plantation, skit presentation, cleaning kit distribution, special rally for awareness on hygiene, drawing / painting competition etc. in the nearby areas of its Corporate Office and across all its Regional Offices/ Power Stations/ Projects and locations. A highlight of the pakhwada was a series of special wall paintings on theme of cleanliness made by children of NHPC employees at NHPC Residential colony, Surajkund, Faridabad
