Water Resources and Public Relations Minister Raghunandan Das distributed Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana [PMAY] work orders to beneficiaries in Balikuda block on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Das said development can be achieved through direct participation of people with Government. The PMAY beneficiaries are being encouraged to complete their houses within four months, the Minister said.
The successful executants would be rewarded with Rs 20,000 pecuniary benefits, he added.
Balikuda Block Development Officer (BDO) Kalyani Patnaik informed that 10 PMAY beneficiaries in each Panchayat were given work order. As many as 1,748 PMAY houses would be built in Balikuda block in current fiscal, the BDO informed.
Among others, the block Chairman and Vice-Chairman, Additional BDO, junior engineers and Panchayat Executive Officers were present.
