The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a 26-year-old criminal who was involved in multiple cases of murder, attempt to murder and Arms Act.
A bounty of Rs 25 thousand was put on information leading to his arrest.
The accused has been identified as, Parvinder Singh alias Nakli (26). Police said that a country made pistol along with a cartridge has been recovered from the possession of the accused.
Manishi Chandra, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, said that on Tuesday, information was received that Parvinder will come to meet his associate near Kirorimal College, subsequently a trap was laid. At about 7:30 pm he was seen on a bike and was nabbed by the police.
“During interrogation, Parvinder disclosed that he was previously involved in seven cases of murder, attempt to Murder and Arms Act. In July, 2013 over enmity, he along with his associates attacked one Parmamjit with knife. In 2014, he along with his associate murdered one Amrik Singh and remained in jail for three and half year,” said the DCP.
“After coming out of jail, he along with his associate attacked one Chanpreet with knife over enmity and remained absconding after that. Later he came in contact with a history- sheeter Mani who was his old friend and was involved in supplying of illegal fire arms in Delhi,” said the DCP.
“Parvinder suspected that Mani works as an informer for police, fearing which, he along with his associates shot dead Mani in June earlier this year in Harinagar area and was at large since then,” said the DCP.
