The government shifted 30 prisoners from Jammu and Kashmir jail to Central Jail in Agra on Thursday following scrapping of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution of India.
According to a report, a special plane took off from J&K with these prisoners on Thursday afternoon and landed at Cherry Airport in Agra under heavy police security.
The prisoners were shifted from the airport to the Central Prison under tight security. Policemen were deployed all through the route from the airport to the Central Jail compound.
The windows of the vehicles by which the prisoners were brought the Agra Central Jail were covered with black cloths as a precautionary measure.
The prisoners were later lodged in high security barracks of the Agra Central Jail.
The local administration also beefed up the security of the jail and deployed additional jawans of the Provincial Armed Constabulary on the boundary walls.
