Around 95 percent of the total aspiring teachers in Haryana have failed to qualify the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE).
The exams were held on January 5-6 in the state.
A total of 3,32,366 candidates had appeared in all the three categories of HTET. The test was conducted under three different categories—level 1 (primary teacher), level 2 (trained graduate teacher-TGT) and level 3 (post graduate teacher—PGT).
Only 14,934 candidates out of the total 3,32,366 have been declared successful in the results declared on Wednesday. Among the applicants, 2,31,885 were female, of which 8,766 (3.8%) cleared the examination, while of the 1,0,0478 male candidates, 6,168 (6.1%) declared successful. Three transgender candidates failed to clear the test.
Giving details of the result, HBSE chairperson Jagbir Singh on Wednesday said that the level-3 test had the lowest pass percentage of 2.55 percent, while the success rate in the level-1 and level-2 exams was 5.71 percent and 4.78 percent, respectively.
