The Vigilance police on Monday caught Bhubaneswar Tehsil office Record Room Senior Revenue Assistant Debadatta Mishra red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 5,000.
He was caught taking bribe in his office room from complainant Suryakanta Sahoo of Jayapurpatna village under Dhauli PS in Khordha district to process his five mutation case files.
Later, Mishra’s house at native village Dulani Sasan under Banapur PS and house at Bhubaneswar were searched. He was arrested and forwarded to the court and remanded to judicial custody till October 26.
