The birthday of the patroness of the school, Mother Mary was celebrated in St Mary's Convent Sr Sec School, Tulsi Nagar on Saturday with much enthusiasm and fervour.
The colourful programme was unfurled with garlanding of Mother Mary's idol. An inspiring skit,' what makes you special was presented depicting the strengths of the old students of the school who made great achievements through reflecting the virtues of Mother Mary they have imbibed from the school. It was followed by rendition of a hymn by the primary school choir and a solemn prayer service.
Thereafter, the petitions made to Mother Mary were burnt. The school choir sang the happy feast song. The meritorious students of X and XII board exams were felicitated by the Principal sister Mary CD with a certificate and a trophy. Scholarships instituted by the teachers and parents were also given away to the outstanding students on the occasion. The junior group of dancers rocked the stage with a folk dance. An electrified performance was given by the school orchestra received much applause.
The teachers of class XII who brought outstanding results and the top scorers were honoured by Sanjeev Bhargava, ex- officio, PTA body by distributing mementos. The silver jubilarian teacher Vijayalakshmi Jha was felicitated by the principal with a shawl, a memento and a sapling. The principal expressed her gratitude to the teacher for her dedicated and fruitful service in the school and congratulated her for the completion of her glorious 25 years.
The programme culminated with a dazzling vibrant dance performance by the students of 6th and 7th on western beats that filled all the hearts with the mirth of the day.
