BJP finalises plan for filing of nominations

Amidst continued suspense before the official announcement of its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party finalised the schedule for their filing nominations from the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand. The names of the candidates are expected to be announced soon.

According to information provided by the party state office, the BJP candidates for Tehri and Garhwal constituencies would file their nomination papers on March 22.

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat would be present at both the places.

The BJP state media in-charge Devendra Bhasin informed that at the organisational level, the party has prepared the plan for the filing of nominations by its candidates. According to the plan, on March 22, the party’s Tehri candidate will file nomination in Dehradun while the Garhwal candidate will file nomination in Pauri. On this day, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and party state in charge Shyam Jaju will be present during filing of the nomination and in the public rallies to be held on the day.

The party candidates in the remaining three Lok Sabha constituencies- Haridwar, Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar and Almora-Pithoragarh will file their nominations on March 25.

Bhasin said that names of the BJP candidates would be announced soon.

He further informed that Rawat, after participating in the filing of nominations and public rallies in Dehradun and Pauri would address public rallies in Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency on March 23.

Later that day, he would also attend the meeting of the party’s election committee in Udham Singh Nagar.
