Bracing itself for the royale battle of the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to conduct a meeting with top executive members from all 70 Assembly constituencies and 14 districts of the national Capital.
Delhi BJP General Secretary Rajesh Bhatia said that executives will interact with senior leaders of party High command and will prepare a roadmap to deter opponents — Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress. Pertinently, this would be the first meeting with Delhi State Election In - charge , Nirmala Sitharaman.
“We were expecting elections in April month , since Election Commission has cleared the voting dates in Delhi , hence party is further gearing up to work on roots and will prepare strategies,” said Bhatia to The Pioneer.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta said that BJP will demand Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Delhi Police Commissioner that strict action must be taken against AAP convener Kejriwal and Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Singh for violation of the code of conduct by obstructing the functioning of Election Commission and Delhi Police.
“Kejriwal insulted the constitutional office of Election Commission by calling it an offshoot of BJP.” “The letter of Sanjay Singh to CEC today is a bundle of lies wherein he has alleged that Election Commission is working at the behest of BJP. It is AAP’s political conspiracy to defame and threaten election and police officials,” Gupta alleged.
Gupta said that the lie of Arvind Kejriwal about deletion of 30 lakh names from voter’s list was exposed by his own Minister for Elections Imran Hussain in a reply to his question in Vidhan Sabha. “As per the facts presented by the Minister in the House, 11,54,332 names were deleted and 18,44,711 names were added during the four years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Thus, 6,90,379 names were added during these four years. This figure exposed the lie and propaganda of Chief Minister. But inspite of this revelation, the AAP machinery continues to churn out lies after lies about deletion of names,” Gupta added.
