BJP workers allege attack by BJD activists

Nine BJP workers were injured after being attacked allegedly by their BJD counterparts near the Mangala slum at Niladri Vihar of the city on Wednesday.

A complaint was lodged by the BJP activists at the Chandrasekharpur police station

alleging that they were attacked by BJD workers. The incident happened while the saffron party workers were campaigning for BJP’s Bhubaneswar North MLA candidate Aparajita Mohanty. Sources said BJP Bhubaneswar district general secretary Sushant Sabat and Chandrasekharpur Mandal leader Manasi Manjari Ray Padhi sustained critical injuries in the attack.

Earlier on Friday last, the BJP had alleged that its Bhubaneswar Central MLA candidate Jagannath Pradhan was attacked by BJD supporters during a party rally in Unit-8.
