Budget Session from tomorrow

BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said his party is ready for open and constructive discussions during the State Assembly’s Budget Session scheduled to begin on Tuesday (June 25).

He was speaking at a BJD Legislature Party meeting held at the Assembly to chalk out strategies for the ruling party to face the Opposition in the House.

“During the Assembly session, we are open to discussions on all matters regarding Odisha. We look forward for cooperation of the Central Government. We will follow up with all our manifesto promises made to the people,” Patnaik told reporters after the meeting.

Notably, the Budget Session of the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly will be held in two phases. While the first-phase session will be held from June 25 to July 3, the second one will commence on July 12 and last till August 8.

According to the schedule, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the Budget for 2019-20 on June 28.

The Appropriation Bill for 2020 fiscal will be passed on July 31.
