Bus falls into gorge in G’pati; 20 hurt

A private bus en route to Parlakhemundi from Bhubaneswar skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Marlava near Titising in Gajapati district in wee hours of Friday.

Though, fortunately, no death casualty was reported, around 20 passengers were injured, including six critically, in the mishap.

According to information, the mishap took place as the driver of the bus named ‘Ispat’ lost control over the vehicle.

On receiving information, the Khajuripada police reached the spot and rescued the injured with the help of locals and rushed them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Khajuripada for treatment.
