Advocating holistic development of Bundelkhand region, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it was the responsibility of the Bundelkhand Development Board to bring all-round development in the rugged region craving for development.
“The region should get drinking water, sufficient water for irrigation and schools for children. The work on Bundelkhand Expressway will start in the next 3-4 months and this will change the face of the region,” the Chief Minister said at a review meeting.
He declared that all the seven districts of Bundelkhand namely Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba and Hamirpur would get piped water. Efforts should also be made to ensure that farmers get water for irrigation, he added.
“A sports college is being constructed in Bundelkhand. The proposal is on the anvil. There is a lot of scope for mining in the region. One District One Project scheme will be implemented in Bundelkhand so that the people get employment at their doorstep,” the Chief Minister said and asked officials to involve local people in chalking out new strategy.
The Chief Minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state was committed to extending all basic facilities to the people of the region because they had been deprived of them for political reasons.
“The previous governments neglected Bundelkhand despite the region having all possibilities to grow,” he said.
Yogi asked members of Bundelkhand Vikas Board to meet at least once in a month to review the progress.
