CM to flag off Tejas Express on October 4

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the country’s first private semi-high speed train Tejas Express on Lucknow-New Delhi trunk route on October 4.
Its commercial run will commence from October 6.
Booking for Tejas Express has already started and the train will be run by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) six days a week.
The fare from Delhi to Lucknow for AC chair car is Rs 1,280 and that for executive chair car Rs 2,450. The Delhi to Kanpur fare for AC chair car is Rs 1,155 and of executive chair car Rs 2,155.
The IRCTC has fixed Lucknow to Delhi fare for AC chair car at Rs 1,125 and executive chair car at Rs 2,310.
The fare has been based on dynamic pricing system and several new features are set to be introduced, including a high-class catering service.
The train will run every day except Tuesdays and start its journey from Lucknow Junction at 6:10 am to reach New Delhi station at 12:25 pm with halts at Kanpur and Ghaziabad.
On the return journey, it will depart from Delhi at 3:35 pm and reach Lucknow Junction at 10:05 pm with halts at Ghaziabad and Kanpur.
However, on the inaugural day on October 4, the train will run late and leave Lucknow junction at 9:30 am.
The train will have 9 AC chair car coaches and one executive class coach to accommodate 758 passengers.
Sources in Railways said on Saturday that reservation for Tejas Express started from Friday evening and around 100 seats were booked immediately for the inaugural run on October 6.
The Railways went for a trial run of Tejas Express on Lucknow-Gorakhpur route on Friday and the train clocked a maximum speed of 110 kmph covering the distance in just over four hours.
