With the third phase polls, scheduled on April 23, Congress Puri Lok Sabha candidate Satya Prakash Nayak and Assembly seat nominee Er Aro Prasad Mishra moved in a huge motorcycle rally in the nook and corner of the town on Thursday.
They slammed sitting MLA and BJD Assembly candidate Maheswar Mohanty for Nabakalebar scams and sitting MP and BJD LS candidate Pinaki Misra visiting voters during electionsonly.
Nayak and Mishra requested people to vote for them and bring the Congress to power at both the Centre and in the State. “I mark a changing mood in the people. They are revolting against scams in the pilgrim city,” said Mishra.
Notably, Nayak and Mishra are new to Puri. However, people prefer them as both are youths and educated.
While Nayak will face BJD’s three-time MP Mishra and BJP national spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra, Aro will face five-time BJD MLA Mohanty and the BJP’s Jayant Sarangi.
As per pre-poll scenario, a close fight is expected to take place between the BJP and the BJD in both the LS and Assembly elections.
