State Congress is going to stage a day-long statewide protest on Saturday against the Centre’s alleged anti-poor and anti-farmer policies.
The agitation would be held in the district headquarters where the organization will oppose the skyrocketing price of petrol and diesel, meager 3.7% increase in Minimum Support Price of paddy and curtailing the quota of rice for ‘Dal-Bhat’ centers and for hostels in the state.
All the office bearers of district and block units have been instructed to stage the protest.
The organization also instructed all members of Youth Congress, National Students Union of India (NSUI), Women’s Congress and Sevadal to be present in large number to make the agitation a success.
Notable, the agitation was earlier proposed on July 8 but due to some unavoidable circumstances it was postponed.
