DDA plans to convert ash disposal area of Badarpur to ECO park

In a bid to make Delhi greener and pollution-free, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has planned to convert the 64.22 acres of land located in ash disposal area of Badarpur Thermal Power Plant to develop an ECO park. The Park will be developed by the National Thermal Plant Corporation (NTPC) with the title from "Manufacturing" to "Recreational". About two lakh trees will be planted.  Besides, the Authority has also decided to change the land use of 19800 sq. m. of land located at Shastri Park to boost sports activities the East Delhi by creating a Community Sports Centre.

The proposal has been passed by the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal in a meeting held on Tuesday. 

The L-G has further approved various other proposals of DDA such as launching of online portal for commercial built-up properties, allotment of Institutional Plots to Old Age Homes/Orphanage/Reformatory through e-Auction, Policy for disposal of Group Housing plots through e-Auction route.  The DDA has also extended the time for completing construction on residential plots allotted by DDA in Rohini Residential Scheme-1981 up to Dec 31, 2020. Further, the policy for renewal of 90 years expired term leases of Residential as well as Mixed Land-use in 23 Nazul-I Estates has also been approved.
