Decision to exempt odd-even for Prakash Parv by today: CM

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the Government respects the feelings of Sikh community and will take a decision on exempting the vehicle rationing scheme on November 11 and 12 by Friday to ensure hassle-free traveling on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

 Several Sikh leaders and organisations met the transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday submitted representation requesting exemption odd-even scheme on November 11-12, citing celebrations and religious functions in the city to mark the birth anniversary of the Sikhism founder.

"We respect the sentiments of the Sikh community, and many Sikh organizations have come up before us to request the relaxation of the odd-even drive on Nov 11 and 12 due to 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti. We will have a meeting in this regard and take a decision," said Arvind Kejrwal during the flagging off ceremony of 100 new buses under a cluster scheme.
