Dengue toll reaches 1,113 in U’khand

The menace of dengue is continuing surge in Uttarakhand. On Thursday the state health department reported 59 new cases of the disease. In provisional state capital Dehradun which is reeling under onslaught of the disease, the authorities reported 28 new cases of the disease on the day. With them the total number of patients affected by the disease has reached 740.

In Uttarakhand a total of 1,113 patients of the disease have so far been identified by the department.

After Dehradun, Nainital district is second most affected area. Here, 310 cases of the disease have so far been affected by the disease. 

As part of the awareness drive, the health department officials are advising people that they should ensure that the breeding places of mosquitoes inside their homes and vicinity are destroyed.

The Aedes mosquitoes-the vector of dengue-are capable to lay their

 eggs in one spoonful of water so the pots, vases, water bottles and coolers should be decanted regularly.
