Employees demand timely release of Diwali Bonus

Tuesday, 15 October 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

The State employees joint council of Uttarakhand has demanded that the State Government should release the bonus and the salary of month of October ahead of festival of Diwali.

The association has also demanded that the State Government should also announce 5 per cent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) on the lines of a similar decision taken by the Centre recently.

In a letter directed to the Chief Secretary, Utpal Kumar Singh, officiating general secretary of the association, Arun Pandey said since Diwali this year is at the fag end of the month, the State Government should release the salary of month of October some days earlier for the benefit of the employees.

He claimed it is a normal practice that the salary is released somewhat earlier when some major festival is falling in the last week of the month. Pandey also said like in previous years, the employees are expecting that the Diwali bonus would be released ahead of the Diwali.
