Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Anup Chandra Pandey has issued directive for construction of two residential schools for boys and girls for education of children of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Sonbhadra district.
It may be mentioned here that these residential schools are being constructed as per the announcement made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
He had announced after the massacre of 10 Gond tribals at Umbha village in Ghorawal tehsil of the district that ashram (residential) schools would come up in Sonbhadra.
The girls’ school will be constructed at Murtiya village in Ghorawal, pargana Barhar, and boys’ school in pargana Searia of Robertsganj.
The Chief Secretary issued this directive at a meeting with the officials here on Thursday.
He asked the officials concerned to start the construction of schools as the earliest and ensure that these schools were run like Navodaya schools.
Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) Manoj Singh, Secretary (Basic Education) Manisha Trighatia, Social Welfare Director Bal Krishna Tripathi and senior officers of the departments concerned were present in the meeting.
