Heavy security arrangements for peaceful counting in state

A day ahead of counting, senior administrative and police authorities reviewed all the preparations made for the even across the state, including state capital Raipur.

Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Arif Sheikh on Wednesday inspected the counting centre at the capital located at Government Engineering College premises,  Sejbahar. Adequate security arrangements have been made here for peaceful conduct of the counting process.

SSP Sheikh during his inspection gave necessary instruction to the police personnel. The forces have been divided into four sectors and heavy security has been deployed in order to maintain law-and-order situation during the counting, police sources said.

A final rehearsal was also made on Wednesday where the SSP gave necessary instructions to the cops.

A total of around 1000 cops have been deployed in the city, including 500 at the counting centre, the SSP informed.

SSP Sheikh has instructed the cops to be alert and vigil while performing the duty.
