After the arrest of an accused in Burdwan blast from Indore, Madhya Pradesh police has achieved another success arresting a notorious criminal who deals in illegal arms and is said to be plotting to eliminate senior leaders of Madhya Pradesh.
The police however claimed that the arrested criminal Haider Ali had confessed something regarding some assassination plot to his friend Arif but both were high on drugs and could not substantiate what they discussed on the particular day.
Sources claimed that the criminal during a chat with his friend has spilled his plan about eliminating three senior leaders of the state including a former Chief Minister.
The Special Task Force (STF) had given an input regarding possible involvement of Haidar to illicit arms trade so in a joint operation, we arrested him on Wednesday, DIG Bhopal Irashad Wali told the media.
On being asked about who are the leaders the criminal was plotting against, the DIG claimed that during integration the hardened criminal accepted that he has said few things to his friend Arif under drugs but he could not remember. Same was the version of Arif who was also arrested by the police, Wali claimed. “The plot to kill leaders had also come to our knowledge but as we could not substantiate the details after quizzing the two criminals, so taking any names would not be appropriate,” said the senior cop on being asked about the names of leaders who were on the radar of the arrested criminal.
