IIM donates freezer to MECON Hospital

Ranchi:Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Ranchi Chapter on Monday donated a Body Freezer to MECON Hospital. It is expected that this shall provide some respite to the bereaved relatives in terms of time for the final crematory rituals. On this occasion, from the IIM’s side, Basudev Mishra, Chairman, and ST Selvan, Secretary of Ranchi IIM Chapter where present; whereas from the MECON hospital’s side, CD Goswami, General manager, Dr. JK Rath CMO In-charge, MECON Hospital were present.

Inter-House competitions at SBPS

Ranchi:Inter-House English Recitation, Storytelling and Speech Competition was organised from KG-I to Std. II at Sarala Birla Public School here on Tuesday. One participant from each house of KG I to Std. II was selected for the final round. In English Recitation, tiny tots of KG I recited the poems while displaying their lovely thoughts through props, students of KG II beautifully narrated the stories. The students showcased their speaking skills through this competition. School Head Personnel & Admin Pradip Varma said that competitions play a great role in constructing confidence, expository speaking and communication among children. Principal Paramjit Kaur said that such competitions emphasis on building a child’s phonemic skills and helps to solidify a foundation for reading abilities.

OPS shines in Taekwondo

Ranchi: As many as 22 students of Oxford Public School displayed their outstanding performance in 6th Ranchi Inter School Taekwondo Championship held at Sarla Birla Public School, Ranchi on January 20 and the school clinched Runner-up Trophy in under 17 age group. Today in the assembly, Suraj Sharma, the Principal gave away the Gold, Silver & Bronze medals to the winners. Addressing the prize recipients, the principal congratulated them and wished them bright future. Highlighting the importance of Taekwondo the principal further exhorted all the students to participate in such activities with immense zeal and enthusiasm which will give them edge over other contestants.

Vikas Bharti programme for youths

Ranchi:To provide guideline to the youths of the State ‘Rural Youths Development Talk’ Programme will be organized at premises of social organization Vikas Bharti situated at Gumla on the occasion of birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23. It is expected that more than 5000 youths from various parts of the State would participated in the programme.

Ranchi:Tata Steel won the prestigious Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award (GPHREA) 2018 for its commitment to healthy employee relations, growth and development, while ensuring work satisfaction. Prakash Manchubhai Mehta, Minister of Housing, Govt. of Maharashtraand Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, Aditya Birla Group presented the coveted award to Mr. Suresh Dutt Tripathi, Vice President, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel at an event held in Mumbai on Jan 17, 2019.
