Shah to address poll rallies in HP in May

Shimla:  BJP president Amit Shah will address three election rallies in Kangra, Hamirpur and Shimla parliamentary segments of Himachal Pradesh in May. He will hold his first rally in Chamba on May 5 for party candidate Kishan Kapoor contesting from Kangra constituency.  On May 12, he will address rallies in Hamirpur for party candidate Anurag Thakur and Nahan for Suresh Kashyap, the BJP candidate from Shimla Lok Sabha seat.  Voting for the four Lok Sabha seats-- Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Hamirpur-- in Himachal Pradesh will take place during the final phase on May 19.  In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party had won all the seats.

Hry Min issues directions on crop damage

Chandigarh: Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu has directed the officers concerned to prepare assessment report on damage caused to crops due to rains and hailstorm in the state in last 48 hours, so as to provide relief to the affected farmers. Capt. Abhimanyu said that through various sources, he had received the reports of crops damaged due to rains, occurred in the various parts of the state. Taking immediate action in this regard, he directed the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to prepare complete report of losses due to these rains and hailstorm. A special Girdawari would be done for affected areas so that the affected farmers could be provided compensation, he added.

Seminar on medical negligence organized

Mohali: Aryans College of Law and Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, near Chandigarh jointly organized a seminar on medical negligence and legal framework in India at its campus. Dr Param Jeet Singh, Punjab School of Law Punjabi University and Dr Charan Kamal, Rajendra Hospital, Patiala were the guest speakers on the occasion.

1st PGC Junior Series Golf Tournament

Chandigarh: The 1st Panchkula Golf Club Junior Series Golf Tournament will be conducted at the Panchkula Golf Club on April 23. This tournament will be a Gun-Shot start with a maximum of 100 participants out of which 72 players will be from category A (under 18), category B (under 15), category C (under 13), and category D (under 11). The balance 28 entries will be from category E and category F for which a putting competition will be conducted. Each of the 100 participants will be given a PGC memento of participation. General Manager of PGC, Col. AS Dhillon said “We aim to provide tournament, rules & etiquette exposure to proficient junior golfers as well as those who have recently learnt or are currently learning golf”. There will be prizes for boys and girls in each of the 6 categories.

SBI Ladies Club donated Rs 1.50 Lakhs

Chandigarh: SBI Ladies Club President Rashmi Singh has now handed over a cheque of Rs 1.50 Lakhs to Surinder Tanwar, Special DGP, BSF, Mohali as contribution of the club towards “Bharat Ke Veer” fund in the presence of PK Gupta, MD (R&DB), during the Town Hall Meeting at Tagore Theatre here. Tanwar appreciated this gesture of the SBI Ladies Club, Chandigarh and wished them well for the future.
