Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that the cremation of CRPF jawans martyred in the fidayeen attack in Kashmir on Thursday would be carried out with full state honours and ministers and district officials would attend the cremation functions.
“There are 12 jawans from the state, who were martyred in this dastardly act. At this hour of tragedy, the UP government stands closely with the martyrs' families,” Yogi said in a statement issued in Lucknow on Friday.
As per reports, the martyred jawans belonged to Chandauli, Maharajganj, Shamli, Deoria, Mainpuri, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat and Unnao.
Ministers have been instructed to go to villages and attend the cremation. Jai Prakash Nishad will go to Chandauli, Ramapati Shastri to Maharajganj, Suresh Rana to Shamli, Anupama Jaiswal to Deoria, Satyadeo Pachauri to Mainpuri, Ashutosh Tandon to Allahabad, Neelkanth Tiwari to Varanasi, SPS Baghel to Agra, Sandeep Singh to Kannauj, Mukut Bihari Verma to Kanpur Dehat and Brijesh Pathak to Unnao.
The CM said that District Magistrates and SSPs would also attend the cremation. The state government has already announced compensation of Rs 25 lakh for martyrs' families besides assuring job to one family member each.
