Man hits lover with hammer for breaking 8-yr-old relation

A 24-year-old man was arrested by Delhi Police on Tuesday for allegedly hitting a woman on her head with a hammer for ending their relationship. The incident took place inside a hotel T Class at Mahipalpur, after the accused “got angry when the woman broke up with him and refused to listen to his pleas”

The accused has been identified as Nishant Saini, a resident of Sarojini Nagar in Delhi. The accused knew victim from last 8 years.

According to a senior police official, they received a call from the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre that a woman with head injuries had been admitted by hotel staff.

“Subsequently, Nishant Saini, a resident of Sarojini Nagar, was detained for questioning. Initially, Saini tried to mislead police by claiming that the woman sustained the injuries after something fell on her head,” said the senior police official.

“In her statement the victim alleged that she was in a relationship with the accused for the last eight years, but couple of days back, she ended the relationship as the accused was over possessive. The accused got infuriated as despite several efforts to convince her but she kept on refusing,” said the senior police official.

Few days ago the accused had called the victim and asked to meet for the last time. He took her to a hotel in Mahipalpur where he again tried to convince her to be in relationship with him again. But they got into an argument, following which he hit her on the head with a hammer multiple times.
