Missing poll official’s body found in Bijepur

The body of a missing Block Resource Coordinator (BRC), who was in-charge of patrolling for the ensuing Bijepur by-poll in the district, was recovered from a dumping yard on Monday evening.

The deceased identified as Taranisen Mahala was a resident of Nuapalli village under Gaisilet block in the district.

Reportedly, Taranisen was missing since October 12. His family members had lodged a complaint at the Gaisilet police station in the connection.

The mutilated body of Taranisen wrapped in a polythene sheet was recovered from a dumping yard in Bijepur in presence of police personnel.

Later on Tuesday, police said that they have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of the BRC. The incident was fallout of pending toilet construction bills under the Swachh Bharat Mission, police said.
