MP players bag 25 medals at Karate Championships

The players of Madhya Pradesh State Martial Arts Karate Academy won 25 medals in the Under-21 Cadet Junior National Karate Championships. The players won 15 gold medals, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.

The championship was played in Chennai from January 29 till 31. On this achievement, Director Sports and Youth Welfare S.L. Thoussen congratulated the medal winners while expressing happiness. He also appreciated the performance of the players made in the competition.

The players who won gold medal in the competition - Rishabh Tomar (Junior -55 kg), Ashini Kumar Singha (Junior76 kg), Vaishali Rajak (Under-21 -61 kg), Knowledge Dubey (Under-21-255 kg) ), Rudrapratap Singh (Under-21 -67 kg), Vishwan Vishnoi (Under-21 -84 kg), Ankit Sharma (Under-21  84kg), Anshita Rawat (13-14 years), Gargi Singh Parihar (Cadet  54kg), Vandana Yadav (cadet-54 kg), Isha Malaviya (Junior - 53kg.), Unvesha Singh (junior -59 kg) and Riddhi Cabe Jr. (59 kg.)

Similarly, Shakti Singh (Junior -76 kg), Kiran Malviya (Under-21 -55 kg), Ayusha Sondhiya (cadet -67kg.), Samarth Sahu (cadet -70 kg) and Culture Soni (Junior-48 Kg.) won silver medal.

Sanskar Soni (Junior-61 kg), Prithviraj Singh Chauhan (Under-21 -75 kg), Gargi Singh Parihar (cadet), Saloni Patidar, Vandana Yadav and Gargi Singh Parihar won bronze medal. Besides, player Ronak Yadav (cadet-52kg) and Pankaj Pandey (cadet -57kg) won one gold and Chirag Pawar (junior) got the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, in Hockey India Junior Women's National Championship held at Kerala Madhya Pradesh Women's Hockey Academy defeated Punjab 3-1 to win the first league match.

In the Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played in Kollam (Kerala) on Thursday, the first league match between Punjab and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, Gwalior was held in 'A' Division. The team of Hockey Academy won 3-1.
