New Zealand woman found dead at Paharganj hotel’

A 49-year-old woman from New Zealand, who had come to India to get married as per Indian traditions, was found dead in a hotel in Delhi’s Paharganj area on Saturday morning.

The victim has been identified as Tuialli Polly Anne. According to senior police official, on Saturday morning, her boyfriend found her unconscious.

"He informed the hotel staff and took the woman to Lady Hardinge hospital where she was declared brought dead. Police were informed regarding the incident by the hospital following which, a police team was sent to hospital," said the senior police official.

"During investigation, it was revealed that Anne was a patient of hypertension and had come to India with her boyfriend, who is an Australian national," said the police official privy to investigation. 

"As the woman was a patient of high blood pressure, it seems like she died due to cardiac arrest. The body has been sent for autopsy that will ascertain the exact cause of death. Police have informed the concerned Embassy regarding the incident," said the police official adding that further investigation is going on.
