Sadguru Thakur Nigamananda Saraswati Paramahansa Dev’s 139th birth anniversary was celebrated in Sri Sri Nigamananda Ashram , Lokanath Marga, Puri on the auspicious occasion of Jhulan Purnima on Thursday.
Pravati Kirtan, Bishesha Puja , Homa , Arati , Staba-Stotra Bandana , Jayguru Mahanam Sankritan Swadhyaya programme and Smruti Sabha were organised.
Ashram president Dr Swami Shankarananda Saraswati presided. Ashram member Prasanta Kumar Swaim introduced the guests after the Abahan Sangita.
Vedic Mangalacharan was rendered by the students of the Veda Vidyalaya. Successful candidates in the inter school and college and university level debate and essay competitions were awarded.
Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Santhan, Puri Harekrushna Mohapatra was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, Dr Jagabandhu Mishra ,Principal, Jagannath Veda Karmakanda College joined as guest. The chief guest inaugurated the “Satsikshya Prachar Samiti” started by the ashram.
Vote of thanks was delivered by teacher of Saraswata Vidya Niketan, Nikunaja Kishore Biswal.
More than 2,000 devotees from Puri, Cuttack , Jagatsinghpur, Khordha , Kendrapada, Baleswar , Bhadrak, besides from West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, participated. A Bhajan Samaroha was organized.
