Sipat Super Thermal Power Station of the NTPC Limited carried out a massive plantation drive this moonsoon to protect environment and to spread green cover in and around the power plant.
The programme was inaugurated with sapling plantation at over burden area by Padmakumar Rajasekharan, chief general manager (NTPC-Sipat) in the presence of other general managers and officials of Chhattisgarh Van Vikas Nigam on Tuesday, the NTPC said in a statement.
Under this programme, 2000 saplings will be planted in association with Chhattisgarh Van Vikas Nigam. Total cost of plantation drive will be borne by the NTPC.
Similarly another plantation programme was carried out by Corporate Social Responsibility Department of the NTPC Sipat at State Mental Health Hospital, Sendri, Bilaspur. Dr. B R Nanda, hospital’s superintendent and entire staff whole heartedly participated in the programme.
It has been decided to plant 1000 saplings at the premises of State Mental Health Hospital, Sendri. On this occasion Dr. B R Hotchandani, MD, Medicine, Dr. J P Arya, MD, Orthopaedics, A K Bokhad, DGM, CSR, doctors and hospital staffer and NTPC Sipat officials contributed for environment protection.
