Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the International Yoga Day programme to be organised at the State capital on June 21 and will give a message of maintaining healthy lifestyle to the people across the globe. The CM said that it is a matter of pride for Jharkhand to host the programme, where the PM will participate. 

Addressing media persons here on Saturday the CM said that the State government has made elaborate arrangements for the event not only in the Capital city but across the State. The government will organize yoga training camps in the entire State on June 13 at Panchayat, block, district and State level, he said, appealing all institutions, business establishments, social organizations, schools and colleges to observe the day.

Das also launched the online registration portal idyranchi.in /yogadayindia.nic.in for common people, who would want to participate at the main event being organised at the Prabhat Tara ground on June 21. He said that due to security reasons only those, who register themselves through the websites will be able to attend the main event in Ranchi.

The CM talked about the benefits of Yoga and said that it is an integral part of Indian culture.

He said that yoga is necessary for a healthy mind and body and with this healthy Jharkhand and healthy India can be built.

Das said that along with health benefits Yoga has employment possibilities too. At present, there is a lot of demand for Yoga instructor overseas. Keeping in mind the main program the Chief Minister instructed Deputy Commissioners of all the districts to conduct seminars for spreading awareness of the benefits of yoga .

In order to make the main program of Yog Day successful, Chief Minister appealed to students, NGOs, corporate Houses and political parties to participate in the event and make it a mass movement.

The Chief Minister said that the people of the State are fortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Ranchi after becoming the PM again at the Center.

Health Secretary Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, said, on the occasion that this year, eco-friendly arrangements have been made on the occasion of yoga Day. All participants will be provided Eco-Friendly yoga mats made with Khadi. Participants will also be provided T-shirts.

He said that continuous efforts are being made to promote yoga for the creation of a healthy society since past five years by the government of India.
