As per the advisory, people have been asked to protect themselves against sun and heat. Stay in an airy, cool place at home. If it is very necessary to work outside, then outdoor activities must be done only in the morning and evening.

Excessive physical activity should not be done in the daytime when the temperature is at its peak. Use white and light coloured thin fabric. Cover the head with a tight cloth or hat. Use shoes, slippers and sunglasses. Have meals and adequate water before going out in the sun. Consume maximum beverages, non-alcoholic such as lemon water, lassi, buttermilk, jaljira, mango panna, curd, coconut water etc. Eat fresh and clean meals. Infants and children, women and men over 65 years of age should stay indoors.

The temperature inside a closed vehicle is more than the temperature outside. Never leave anyone alone inside a vehicle kept in the parking lot. If necessary only travel in train, bus etc and avoid crowded area and suffocating room during the summer season.
