Thursday, 19 September 2019 | PNS | Chandigarh

Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora on Wednesday said that Punjab is the first State in the country which has implemented industry

friendly policy-2017 and provided scores of facilities for the new as well as the existing industries

Arora, chairing a meeting of the newly-appointed chairmen, vice-chairmen, directors concerned with districts and members of various boards and corporations, said that the Industry and Commerce Department is working as a team to ensure that the permissions sought regarding establishing new industrial units are accorded in time.

He asked the new appointed chairmen to exhort the youth of the State to start their own micro, small and medium enterprises.

“Punjab Government’s efforts have led to the investment of Rs 50,000 crore in two years of the present government. This would lead to job avenues for the unemployed youth,” said Arora adding that the permissions to be sought from 23 departments are being accorded under one roof as per the single window system.

He said that power consumption, during last two years, has increased by 22 percent owing to facilities like power at Rs five per unit.
