The Quality Circle Federation of India (QCFI), Bhubaneswar Chapter in collaboration with the Bhilai Chapter organised a Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC–2019) on the theme ‘Quality Concepts for Cultural Breakthrough’ here on Sunday.
The mega event, promoted by the Odisha Mining Corporation, witnessed as many as 72 QC teams with 372 participants representing 13 leading industries who showcased their creative efforts to build a total quality culture.
The Agrasar team of Bhilai Steel Plant and Quick Kadam team of BALCO were adjudged as the best of convention and second best of conventions respectively whereas 56 teams won gold, 13 teams won silver and three teams won bronze in the event.
QCFI ED DK Srivastav, NINL Vice-Chairman and MD SS Mohanty, OMC Director (Personnel) Dr Santanu Rath and QCFI, Bhilai Chapter Director GP Singh attended as guests.
They highlighted the importance of inculcating quality orientation and institutionalising total quality culture to improve competitiveness to pave way for business excellence in a rapidly changing business landscape.
Teams winning gold and silver will participate in the 33rd edition of the National Conventions on Quality Concepts in Varanasi in December 2019.
