Saryu Roy’s behaviour regrettable: BJP

Monday, 11 February 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

The State unit of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said that a senior leader like Saryu Roy should have taken up his grievances at the party level before approaching the media.

Food and Public Distribution Minister in Jharkhand Government, Roy, had reportedly approached BJP National President, Amit Shah and handed over a letter to him a few days ago citing his grievances with the State Government.

The matter soon caught the attention of the media and the State BJP saw red in this matter.

Speaking on the issue State Spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said that Roy is a very senior and respected leader of the party and he should raise his grievances in party forum instead of approaching the media.

“Since last four and half years Roy is repeatedly raising question on the functioning of the Government. He could have talked to BJP’s State In-charge according to the rules of the party instead of going to the media. The party has always heard his voice and done the needful.”

The party regrets Roy’s behavior keeping in view that he is very senior and respected party leader and he has been a party member since Jai Prakash Movement in 1977.

Replying on the issue Roy said that he has no regrets regarding the matter as he has done nothing wrong against the party.
