The Orion, a sports event of the Sri Sri University, was kicked off with a mega inaugural ceremony on January 16.
The sports events include a number of inter-university sports competitions like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, cricket, etc.
The chief guest on the occasion was Minister Sports and Youth Services Chandra Sarathi Behera. Other guests present on the dais were (Prof) Dr Nand Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Narendra Lamba, Director of Operations, Commodore Ghanshyam Ojha, Executive Registrar, and Captain Chandra Shekhar Panda, Director of Student Affairs of the Sri Sri University.
The students gave an awestruck martial art performance. Ojha offered a vote of thanks.
Along with sports there are a plethora of cultural and academic events lined up to celebrate the cultures from the East and innovations from the West which will be held from January 18 to 20.
