In a tragic incident, 18-year-old girl died while her husband and another person sustained injuries after a portion of a three-storey building collapsed in outer Delhi's Badli area. The incident occurred on early hours on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Poonam. The injured persons have been identified as Chhotu (21) and Praveen Singh (30).
According to a senior Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official, a call regarding the incident was received at 5.15 am following which the staff rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
However, a senior police official said that a portion of second and third floor of the building fell down at 5 am on Friday. "Three persons, including a woman, got injured. They were rushed to nearby hospital where Poonam was declared brought dead. While Poonam's husband Chhotu is undergoing treatment at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital," said the senior police official.
"Praveen, the third victim, got injuries on his leg, head and face. He was discharged after first aid," said the police official.
"Poonam's parents also lived on the ground of the building and they escaped unhurt in the incident. Her parents informed Chhotu's parents, who live in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, regarding the incident," said the police official.
