Vehicle-lifters’ gang busted, 11 vehicles recovered

Misrod police busted a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered eleven vehicles from the gang worth Rs 7 lakh from their possession on Sunday.

The miscreants were nabbed after receiving information regarding miscreants planning burglary at 11 Mill area in the night on Sunday. Police recovered a screw driver and a master key from their possession.

According to the police, acting on a tip off, four miscreants were nabbed and when they was quizzed regarding the reason of gathering there, they failed to provide the details and later confessed that they have been involved in stealing motorbikes from different parts of the city.

In the initial investigation, police found that two of the accused were minor, while the other two accused were identified as Rameshwar (19) and Saurabh Kushwaha (18).

The accused, when further quizzed, confessed stealing of 11 two wheelers in which 10 were motorbikes and one was scooter and were stolen from Misrod, Piplani, Govindpura, MP Nagar and Mandideep areas.

The police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and started further investigation. During the investigation, details of the disposal of the stolen vehicles would be searched and the number of vehicles stolen by the miscreant in different parts of the city and nearby areas would be investigated.            

Meanwhile, Ashoka Garden police have nabbed two minors involved in stealing motorbike and bicycles from Ektapuri in the night on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off regarding two youths with stolen motorbike were nabbed from Ektapuri ground. The motorbike was stolen from Bajaria area on April 12. Police found that the accused are minor and in the investigation accused confessed stealing of 13 geared bicycle from Minal Residency area.
