XISS holds CSR conclave

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) organised a CSR conclave ‘CSR and Small Business Development for Rural Sector’ here on Saturday. The chief guest for the occasion Sourav Roy spoke on the sustainable development of the society with CSR initiatives.

Associate Professor XISS Niranjan Sbaoo welcomed the dignitaries where as Acting Director XISS Dr Amar Eron Tigga presented the welcome address.

In the first session, RM Programme Head Dr Himadri Sinha focused on scope, opportunity and dynamics of empowerment of the vulnerable and the development strategies for Rural Based Enterprise through CSR. The Rural Management Club- Prakriti was also launched with the objective of showcasing on and off campus activities of RM Programme. Professor Sudhir Kumar Sinha (IRMA), an alumni of XISS was the key speaker who shared his views on the voluntary and compulsory working of CSR rather than choice.

The second session focused on dealing with the challenges faced by CSR in Small Business Development for Rural Sector. Professor Sudhir Kumar Sinha (IRMA), Associate VP Malini Gupta and CSR Head, JCB, Faridabad were the speakers for this session.

In the third session, Professor KK Bhagat presented the success stories of CSR’s of various companies and their respective representatives including GM-ER Tata Motors Deepak Kumar, Adani Enterprises CSR Head Rajesh Ranjan, AM-CSR, CCL Sweata Shalini Hansda, Founder Director LEADS Ranchi Awadh Kishore Singh among others.

The last session was coordinated by Associate Professor RM Programme Sant Kumar Prasad. Assistant Director XISS Fr Pradeep Kerketta and the rapporteur Associate Professor RM Programme Dr Anant Kumar also addressed the gathering.
