A 20-year-old youth sustained critical injuries as a group of miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons over past enmity on in the Parbatipur area under the Fatepur police station in Nayagarh district on Wednesday night.
The victim was identified as Laba Mahapatra, a Plus Three third year student of the Pathani Samanta College, Nayagarh. As per reports, the miscreants came on motorcycles and attacked him near Bhapur-Parbatipur bypass while he was returning home.
He was rushed to the Bhapur CHC and later was shifted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar after his condition deteriorated. No complaint was registered at the police station till thi report was filed. Sources said attackers were known to Laba and old enmity was the reason behind the attack.
