‘Don’t regret getting married’

Actress Vidya Balan opens up about her role as a wife in real life on her first-ever radio show, Dhun Badal Ke Toh Dekho with Vidya Balan on and Fm channel.

She said, “I don’t regret getting married. I don’t believe that everyone should get married as it isn’t necessary. But when I met Siddharth (Roy Kapur), we knew we wanted to stay together and a wedding would, maybe, make our families happy. We could have stayed together even without marriage. But marriage is very unpredictable. It can give you stress as well as happiness. Every day is a different day.”

‘It has been four years together and now it’s going to be three years to my marriage. It has been beautiful. I feel that it is important that your partner is like your best friend. So, we are in complete sync everyday. We do love to spend time together and doing everything together. It is a fulfilling experience when you come back home and there is someone waiting for you.’

Actress Rakul Preet says it’s extremely tough for an outsider to get meaningful roles in the film industry.

But she is glad that she is getting a chance to explore her calibre with De De Pyaar De.

“I said ‘yes’ to the film because of my role. Let’s face the fact, it is very difficult for an outsider to crack the film with a great role. When I heard about it, I was completely blown by it. I said I will do anything to get this role. I am extremely grateful that I am getting such a good response and people are noticing me in the trailer when it has two stalwarts,” she added.

‘Directing makes me a better actor’

Oscar winning-actress Brie Larson donned the director’s hat for her new project Unicorn Store. She says her new directing duties have made her a better actor.

Larson, who has become the first to lead a female superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain Marvel, feels that having the knowledge of directing films has improved her as an actor.

“Directing makes me a much better actor because you see the entire process. Actors don’t get to be part of pre-production as much. They are not seeing what everybody does on the team,” Larson said during the promotion of her forthcoming film Avengers: Endgame.
