The COVID-19 tally in the Union Territory of Puducherry rose to 37,995 with the addition of 48 new cases, while one more fatality took the toll to 631, the government said on Sunday.
As many as 43 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours ending 10 am on Sunday, taking the cumulative recoveries to 37,005.
There were 359 active cases in the union territory, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said.
A total of 2,023 samples were tested during the period and so far 4.73 lakh samples have been examined, he told a virtual press meet
The Minister said the fatality rate was 1.66 per cent, while the recovery rate was 97.39 per cent.
The one death recorded was of a 77-year-old man at a government hospital in Karaikal, he said.
