Archer Amit Kumar selected for Tokyo Olympic Games ’20

Archery Academy player Amit Kumar got selected for Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.

Notably, the selection trial was held at the Tata Sports Complex Jamshedpur, Jharkhand for the Tokyo Olympic Games from November 23 to 27.

Amit Kumar, a talented player from Madhya Pradesh State Archery Academy, stood third with a score of 2655 against 2880 points. did. On the basis of outstanding performance, Amit Kumar has been selected for the India Camp in Pune. It is noteworthy that before this, 8 players were selected for the India camp of the Olympics. After the Corona period, the selection competition for the India camp for the Olympics again was held in Jharkhand. 29 players from the country participated in the selection trials in which two players from Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy Jabalpur, Amit Kumar and Amit Yadav participated and made it to the top eight. Of these, Amit Kumar came in the top 4 and made his place in the India camp of Olympics.

Amit Kumar, trained at Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy Jabalpur since the year 2016, gave Madhya Pradesh a gold medal in the team event of the Senior National Archery competition held in Pune in the year 2018. He has also illuminated the name of Madhya Pradesh by winning a gold medal in Mini National (Under 14).

Archery Academy player Amit Kumar was selected as Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare when he was selected in the India Camp organized for Tokyo Olympics.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated the player. She said that our players are making Madhya Pradesh proud by performing brilliantly at national and international level.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Kumar Jain said that in the year 2013, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Hon. The players prepared through the Madhya Pradesh State Archery Academy, started on the initiative of Yashodhara Raje Scindia, are doing excellent in international and national competitions and are making the state proud by winning medals.

Players are undergoing training in archery under the guidance of Chief Instructor of Madhya Pradesh State Archery Academy  Ritchpal Singh Salaria and Assistant Instructors Ashok Kumar Yadav, Rashmi Singh and Ravi Pradhan.
