At least two persons were killed and 20 others injured when a bus overturned near the Papadahandi Deer Park in Nabarangpur district on Saturday.
However, identities of the deceased duo were yet to be ascertained.
Sources said the bus was on its way to Chandahandi from Jeypore of Koraput district. The mishap took place at around 4 pm when the driver suddenly applied brakes to save a cow and a calf from being hit near the deer park. The driver lost control over the vehicle, following which it turned turtle.
The two passengers died on the spot.
Soon after, police and fire officials reached the spot and rushed the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) with the help of locals.
