In a significant move, the government has amended the Chhattisgarh Factories Rules 1962 to ensure a toilet for every 25 women employees. It is also mandatory to provide a toilet for every 25 male employees.
The government said on Friday that it had amended section 46 of the Chhattisgarh Factories Rules.
At least one toilet must be provided compulsorily for every 25 women workers -- like in the case of men.
For more than 100 men in a factory, one toilet for each 25 men up to the first 100 and another toilet for each 50 men will have to be arranged, the government order said.
Women toilets must have adequate sanitary napkins as per Indian standards and these should be supplied daily, it said.
