CM Yogi: Govt to provide social, economic security to labourers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government would prepare an action plan to provide social and economic security to labourers and therefore it had not only done skill mapping of the labourers but had also directed officials to expedite the process of making ration cards for their food security.

Presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting at his official residence here on Sunday the chief minister asked officials to keep quarantine centres and community centres in functional mode, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.

He said that in order to provide jobs to women, they should be linked to Rural Livelihood Mission. “The women can be engaged in making incense sticks even as there are many possibilities of giving them employment in making murabba, papad, pickles and in the field of sewing,” he said.

The chief minister asked doctors, nurses and paramedics to take regular rounds in Covid and non-Covid hospitals and communicate with the family members of the patients.

He said monitoring of paramedic staff should be done, the hospitals should be cleaned and sanitised regularly, bed sheets in hospitals should be changed daily and the patients should be provided fresh and warm food along with lukewarm water.

Yogi said the surveillance committees should be kept active all the time in order to be utilised in putting a check on the spread of coronavirus infection.

The chief minister directed officials to take prompt action against crimes involving women, SC, ST, cow slaughter and smuggling of cattle. He also asked them to set up a dedicated team to check the documents of teachers posted in Basic Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Social Welfare departments and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and take stern action against defaulters.

The chief minister was apprised by the principal secretary (rural development) that as many as 51 lakh labourers had so far been linked to employment so far.

Those present in the meeting included Chief Secretary RK Tiwari, Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Information) Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Sanjeev Mittal, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Renuka Kumar, Director General of Police HC Awasthi, Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad, Principal Secretary (Medical Education) Rajneesh Dubey, Principal Secretary (MSME) Navneet Sehgal, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Devesh Chaturvedi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SP Goyal and Sanjay Prasad, Secretary to Chief Minister Alok Kumar, Director Information Shishir and other senior officers.
