Complaints ignored, man garlands R’gangpur official

Tuesday, 20 October 2020 | MAlAY RAY | SUNDARGARH

Electrical cable repairing work on an electric pole, which was not done by a concerned official in Rajgangpur Municipality for ten days after repeated complaints by a retired teacher.

However, same was done on Thursday last after retired teacher went to   Rajgangpur Municipality office and garlanded person incharge of electrical work.

According to sources, Saroj Ranjan Das(75) , a retired teacher has a grocery shop and wheat flour mill in SBM Ganguly lane. There is an electric pole in that lane near his shop and also there is another electric pole in square there.  There was complete darkness in that locality since  there was some fault in cable in both electric poles and  lights of electric pole were not functioning.  Das had first informed concerned Junior Engineer and thereafter had requested one Purnachandra Dilla, Incharge of electrical work in Rajgangpur Municipality, to rectify  defects.

Dilla had given his nod to do the job but did not do. Das thereafter everyday reminded Dilla of the work but his complaint and request went futile.

When 10 days passed off, Das went to Rajgangpur Municipality office on Thursday with a small garland and when he saw Dilla was talking to some other officials there, he put garland in his neck, which was a great embarrassment of official. After Das returned from office of Municipality to his grocery shop, he saw that electrical repairing job was done.  and lights of the electric poles were ready to function.
